Many spiritual teachings recognize that Reality is dynamic – things keep changing, and we also keep changing, going from one state to another all the time. In our usual inner experience, one state follows another. So sometimes we feel capable and confident, and sometimes we feel like little children. Sometimes we feel loving, and sometimes we feel hateful.
But all of these changes are manifestations of something more fundamental – the inherent dynamism of the living consciousness we call the soul. The very substance of our alive consciousness keeps changing, bubbling and bursting with dynamism. This consciousness is essentially formless, and because of this, it can take many forms.
Yet the soul’s dynamism can also become limited by our conditioning so we experience ourselves and life as repetitive and unchanging rather than as a series of dynamic, flowing forms.
