10:00 am - 09:00 pm
Many of us have had occasional moments in our lives when we felt like the busyness of our inner world had stopped. For a few blessed seconds, the clamor of our inner voices, the drumbeat of our self-judgments, our inner mental activity of division and conflict had disappeared. At those moments, we usually notice the absence of our familiar inner activity; but we tend not to notice the presence of something else – a quality of our own nature, the essence of peace and stillness itself.
Or perhaps we’ve had a glimpse that this stillness and peace is something fundamental to us, but we tend to believe it’s caused by something else – maybe being in nature or doing yoga or making love. Certain conditions seem to produce it. This weekend, we’ll begin an exploration of the actual nature of this inner peace – what obscures it, and what allows it to become part of our actual lives.
