Hameed, Karen, and Friends of Ridhwan send you warmest greetings for the holidays

Hameed, Karen, and Friends of Ridhwan send you warmest greetings for the holidays

We truly appreciate the donations made to the school by many members of our community at this profoundly difficult time, and we are equally appreciative and deeply moved by the gifts of your dedication to this path and its practices.

People bond in crises, and we’ve had our share of those in 2020. The isolation brought on by the pandemic has brought our global community closer together. Thanks to the technological miracle of videoconferencing, we have nurtured this unity and ensured that teachers continue to provide teachings, and students continue to receive them, together. With the move online Hameed became more available to us all, dropping into many groups world-wide during retreats to say “Hi” and deliver a teaching.

In the video below, Hameed and Karen offer us their holiday wishes and share their personal observations of the beautiful cohesiveness they have witnessed this year in our spiritual family, which, as Karen says, is unprecedented.

Thanks to your donations, we are nearing our fundraising goal of closing the $100,000 gap in our annual budget, but we are not there yet. Don’t forget that a generous donor has offered a $50,000 matching gift for all unrestricted-fund donations if we collectively raise another $50,000 before the end of the year. Can you help us reach our goal?

We send you all our deep appreciation and best wishes for happy holidays and a healthy, safe New Year. ,

P.S. For those community members in the US, the CARES Act includes a “partial above-the-line deduction” for charitable contributions. This allows people who take the standard deduction — those who cannot itemize deductions — to claim a deduction of up to $300 in donations.

Friends of Ridhwan (formerly Friends of Diamond Heart) is the student-run 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, charitable organization designated by the Ridhwan School’s Obsidian Synod to fundraise—for short-term and future-oriented needs—on behalf of the school.
